Winning takes doing right things at right time. And to do it again and again makes a great team, something the great Aussies team of 90s was master at. Well, for IPL, KKR is ruling it. Doing several right things together and that has made them sit comfortably at top.
Both the sides were sloppy in field except for Uthappa who was a sheer class behind stumps. Three on point stumping. Well, the fielding loss for KKR was very well wiped out through a brilliant display of hitting. For RPS, they just kept on dropping irrecoverable chances and result is in front of us. Uthappa came back to form like a roaring lion with 47 ball 87. Kuldeep Yadav (2/31) was again good with the ball. Economical and Wicket taking.
RPS did things right with bat. Rahane (46) and Tripathi (38) gave them a steady, good start and Captain Steve did capitalise on it with another routine fifty. Little cameos from Dhoni and Christan saw them posting a challenging 182. The wicket was on a slower side when they were batting and bowling wasn’t easy in latter half, but still in all these conditions, we have seen teams defending and this wasn’t such a dreadful loss, but RPS made it.
Call it their own doing. Two drop chances of top, in-form players never pay off. Your bowlers will create chance, but it your fielders that will catch them. RPS needs to learn this real quick. A easy win for KKR. Gautam Gambhir once again is leading the race for Orange cap. An interesting race indeed. Gautam read the conditions well and had spinners on, while RPS missed Stokes and an extra bowler. All about a decision ! .
