Australia vs Bangladesh: When ICC announced the schedule of the Champions Trophy, there were speculations regarding the completeness of the matches, and five matches after, we are facing the same. Out of five matches, two has been washed off and one has been badly affected by rain. Resulting, a good team, prospective to win the cup, hasn’t played one legible match out of two. The snapshot review of the match:
-Bangladesh was all out for 182. More than half of this runs was scored by Tamim Iqbal. Only three batsman were able to register a two digit score, shows you how much dependent the batting has been on Tamim.
- Australian bowlers applied themselves quite well. Specially Starc who was simply brilliant with the ball. 8.3-2-29-4. Each of the specialist Bowlers picked up a wicket.
-183 was never daunting for OZ. The only challenge was rain. And quite indeed. After intermittent breaks, when the play stopped in 16th over, there was no resuming. Australia was cruising to a well deserved victory at 83-1(16) when rain played a spoil-sport.
- This washout means that all the four teams has chance to qualify for Semis. Australia, is reeling with 2 points in 2 matches without completing either. They’ll feel robbed and quite indeed.
- Next up New-zealand takes on host England in Cardiff where possibility of rain is high again. ICC must look into this.
