India vs West Indies Second ODI, Antigua: West Indies won the toss and asked India to bat to avoid leveraging India advantage of chasing in a match which had high prediction of rain. Both of the assumption proved wrong as India sailed to register their biggest win in West Indies against West Indies. The snapshot review:
- Rahane(103- Mom) and Dhawan(67) continued the good form of the previous match and posted a start of 114 runs. And then it was all Virat and Rahane’s show. After Rahane was out, wickets kept of falling cheaply but Virat and then smal innings from others made sure India posted a good 310 in rain reduced 43 overs. Ashley Nurse (9-1-39) did some inspired bowling.
- 311 in 43 isn’t easy. And against a quality Indian Bowling attack, it was even dreadful. and quite so. 2.5 over, 4 runs, 2 wickets. This is where the Caribbean side lost the plot.
- The new found star of the West Indies, Hope did show some hope, but once that partnership was broken (with Lewis) , target was always beyond reach. Jason Holder and Chase did try their hands, but target was way bigger then their effort. For India, the star was Bhuvi (5-1-9-2) and China-man Kuldeep for picking up 3 wickets.
The win continued the dominance of India over Indies while for Indies, the things keep on getting worse. Need some quick over-hauling.
