The 176th edition of the Manchester Derby is penned for Ethiad Stadium on Saturday night and there has arguably never been a better stage for high-quality football, impossible goals and memorable moments.Mourinho-led United meets a Guardiola-led City and the way both teams are playing, we’re in for an absolute treat.

In what was one of the most thrilling Manchester derbies of all time, Jose Mourinho’s United came back from two goals down to seal a memorable 3-2 win to delay the title celebrations of Pep Guardiola and his players. man-united-city-file-afp

Goals from Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan put the hosts two up in the first half and it looked like they were on their way to a routine win. However, the Red Devils hit back in the second half, with Paul Pogba scoring twice in quick succession before Chris Smalling fired in the winner.  In a quite pulsating game that produced nine yellow cards, tempers boiled over late on with City being denied what seemed a clear penalty for a dangerous tackle from Ashley Young on Sergio Aguero and David de Gea produced a world-class save to deny the Argentine striker.1364263134741,0

The result still leaves Guardiola’s men in pole position for the title as they require just six points from their remaining six games (if United keep winning) – four of which come against relegation-threatened teams. This means they cannot secure the title at Wembley against Tottenham next weekend & have to wait a little more to clinch their 3rd PL title whereas it would be interesting to see how City can make a comeback against Liverpool in Champions League on Tuesday after two unexpected defeats.
